Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Bytful collects, how we use it to power the app, and the choices you have over your data.

Last updated: April 8, 2026

1. Overview

Bytful acts as a private bookmarking and personal note-taking tool. It is designed to collect as little personal information as possible while still letting you save recipes, sync your private library, manage subscriptions, and use AI-assisted cooking features strictly for your own personal use.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use Bytful, we may collect:

  • Account details such as your email address or Apple account identifiers.
  • Recipe content, notes, photos, links, and other content you choose to import or create.
  • Support requests, feedback, and messages you send to us.
  • Usage data such as screens visited, feature interactions, and app performance signals.
  • Device and diagnostic information such as device type, app version, and crash logs.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Provide and improve the app and website.
  • Process imported recipes and generate organized recipe cards.
  • Power meal planning, grocery sorting, and cooking assistance features.
  • Respond to support requests and send service-related messages.
  • Monitor performance, fix bugs, prevent abuse, and protect the service.
  • Comply with legal and accounting obligations.

4. AI and recipe processing

Some Bytful features use AI or automated processing to extract ingredients, steps, and other structured data from the content you submit. When you use those features, the content you provide may be processed by our service providers so the feature can work.

We do not use your content to train general-purpose public AI models without a separate agreement or specific permission.

5. Sharing and service providers

We may share information with trusted service providers that help us run Bytful, such as cloud hosting, analytics, crash reporting, payment, and AI infrastructure providers. They are only allowed to use the information to provide services to us.

We do not sell your personal information.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or similar business transaction.

6. Payments and subscriptions

Bytful Pro purchases are handled by Apple. We do not store your full payment card details. Apple provides the billing, renewal, cancellation, and refund workflow for subscriptions purchased through the App Store.

7. Retention and deletion

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law or for legitimate business reasons.

If you want to delete your account or request access to your data, contact us and we will help where required by law and product constraints.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

Bytful is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Your choices

You can usually control or limit data through the app, your device settings, or by contacting us. For example:

  • You can manage subscription settings through Apple.
  • You can adjust notification and permissions settings on your device.
  • You can contact us to ask about account access, deletion, or support.
