How to use the Smart Plan Wizard to automate your weekly nutrition.

Bytful stops the “What’s for dinner?” fatigue by auto-generating meal plans based on your specific needs.

Using the Smart Plan Wizard

  1. Navigate to the Plan tab.
  2. Tap the Magic Wand icon or “Create Smart Plan”.
  3. You will enter the Smart Plan Wizard.

Step 1: Preferences

The wizard asks a few key questions:

  • Dietary Focus: e.g., “High Protein”, “Vegetarian”, “Dash Diet”.
  • Meal Count: How many days do you want to plan? (e.g., 3 days, 5 days, or full week).
  • Meal Types: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, or Snacks.

Step 2: Constraints (Optional)

You can tell the AI to use specific ingredients you already have.

  • Example: “I have a lot of spinach and chicken thighs to use up.”

Step 3: Generation

Bytful scans your Resaved Recipes first, then searches the web for gaps. It builds a cohesive plan that minimizes food waste (e.g., using the rest of the spinach in a lunch salad).

Step 4: Review

You see a draft calendar. You can:

  • Swap: Tap swap to replace a meal you don’t like.
  • Regenerate: Create a whole new plan.
  • Accept: Save the plan to your active calendar.

Automated Shopping List

Once a plan is accepted, the ingredients are automatically added to your Shopping List.

  • Items are sorted by aisle (Dairy, Produce, Pantry).
  • You can check them off as you shop.
  • “Always in Stock” items (like salt/pepper) are hidden by default to keep the list clean.
